By using Compatable, you agree to these terms. Please read the safety section carefully. It matters more than anything else on this page.
1. Compatable is guidance, not medical advice
Compatable is an informational tool. It reads menus and ingredient text and estimates whether dishes may conflict with the dietary restrictions you've selected. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and must never be your only line of defense against a food allergy.
Menus change. Kitchens substitute ingredients, share fryers, and cross-contaminate. Text recognition and AI analysis can miss things or be wrong. A dish marked safe can still contain your allergen.
Always confirm directly with restaurant staff or the product packaging before eating, especially for severe allergies. If you carry emergency medication such as epinephrine, continue to rely on it and your doctor's plan, not this app.
2. Your responsibilities
- You must be 13 years of age or older to use Compatable. Adults may add family members' dietary needs to their own profile.
- Keep your dietary profile accurate. Verdicts are only as good as the restrictions you've entered.
- Treat every verdict as a starting point for your own confirmation, not a guarantee.
- Use the app lawfully and don't attempt to disrupt or abuse the service.
3. Accounts
An account is optional. If you create one:
- You must be 13 or older.
- You sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that email, Apple Account or Google Account secure: anyone who can receive your codes can open your account.
- Your account holds a backup of your profile and saved menus. It is a convenience, not a medical record. The safety section above applies to everything in it.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, your account, Delete account). Deletion is permanent.
- We may suspend or remove an account that is used to abuse the service (for example automated scanning, or attempts to reach other people's data).
4. No warranty
Compatable is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Restaurant data, menu contents, product information found online, and AI-generated analyses may be outdated, incomplete, or incorrect.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compatable and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any injury, illness, allergic reaction, or loss arising from reliance on information presented in the app. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it.
6. Third-party content
Restaurant details and photos come from third-party services (including Google Places) and public sources, and product ingredient statements may come from manufacturer or retailer pages on the web. We don't control and aren't responsible for their accuracy.
7. Changes to the service and these terms
We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. If these terms change materially, we'll update this page and the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
